I usefourdifferentadblockers for my browser, plus extensions that hide various things like the Facebook timeline (I only really need Messenger + Events these days) or hide reposts on Soundcloud.
I've tried everything; PRAM RESETS, SMC RESETS, and plenty of other solutions. But no matter what my machine would lag. It's a Late 2011 MBP with Quad Core i7, 8GB RAM and about 400GB HDD space from 750GB.
The web is increasingly funded by garbage & bloat that comes packaged along with the content you want to see. I happily pay for online services (Spotify, Soundcloud, Evernote, etc) but many services, like Facebook or random news sites don’t offer this. Nor do I want to subscribe to every news website - my friend sent me a random link to click on, I don’t want a lifetime subscription.
It’s not just about seeing annoying ads, it’s about privacy (being tracked by ad networks), page load time (have you tried loading CNET.com lately???), safety (malware), and for mobile clients, minimzing data usage. Thus, Adblockers have started to become more mainstream.
But what about native apps? Or using my iPhone / Android?
Now you can even do that.
Pihole is a nice way to set up a homegrown server on a Raspberry Pi that filters every web request you make - even on smartphones, iPads - anything on your Wifi network.
Here’s the dead simple instructions. From start to finish this took me less than an hour.
Setting up Headless (no Monitor) Pihole
You can set up a headless Pihole with just a Raspberry Pi, a power cable that comes with it, your laptop, and an SD card. No need for mouse, keyboard, or monitor.
Pretty easy.
Admin Panel
Visit it at
http://<static-pihole-ip-address>/admin .
Here you can manage blocklists, see how much blocking is going on, and even watch logs to see requests come through in realtime.
Or even the top blocked tracking domains:
After using for a couple hours I was shocked - around 30% of all requests made on my iPhone were adservers, trackers, and/or malware.
Setting up passwordless SSH
It’s annoying to log into the Pi all the time without this. To add SSH passwordless login:
And add to
~/.ssh/config :
Now you should be able to do:
Blocklists are located at:
/etc/pihole/adlists.list . To change the lists:
Comment out with # any you don’t want, or add more. Then to reload the blocklists:
To see what is being blocked in realtime:
For example, in the first 100 ms when opening Messenger (blocked ones are with
[query] label):
Wow.
Happy Pihole-ing!

If any one here uses quicktime on the mac to record the output of an ios device, or just to record something, you might have noticed, that there is an option to stop the recording, but not an option to pause it. As a matter of fact, the recording can be paused. Here's how.

Hello again,
I'm back with another a blind legend guide. So lets begin. The goal of scene 15 is to deflect the archer's poisoned arrows with your blade and fight two monsters. So lets begin. Follow Louise till you reach the section where the game plays on auto. Louise will get shot in the leg and then Blake automatically will draw his sword. In order to block the arrows you will need to swipe in the direction the arrow is coming from. Using your shield will not do anything, unless you would like to sit there with you shield up all day. LOL

The task of making an I-movie production will most likely require some form of trouble shooting as some systems have minor changes in the ways that the program reacts. It is highly recommended that key commands for Apple’s VoiceOver have been well practiced. This guide pertains to iMovie version 10.1.10 running on MacOS Mojave 10.14.1. Users who are using earlier versions of the program will have different results though some information in this article could be useful.

If you’re coming to the Mac from Windows, you’re probably used to either downloading apps from the Microsoft Store, or downloading an app package from a website and running its included installer. On macOS, there are several ways apps can be installed and uninstalled, which I will give an overview of in this guide.

If you’re a Mac Voiceover user, there’s one word you absolutely hate hearing, the B word.
Of course, I’m talking about the word, “Busy.” It may pass after a few seconds, causing only minor annoyance, or it can happen frequently and significantly disrupt your workflow.

What Is Night Owl?
https://newlabels972.weebly.com/malwarebytes-mac-remediation-client-download.html. Night Owl is the only accessible Twitter client for the Mac, or at least the most popular among VoiceOver users. With it, you can retweets, manage lists, send direct messages, save searches, and much more. While most of the app is relatively simple, some parts can be a bit confusing, and there are some undocumented shortcuts and features. This guide will walk you through the basics of the app, and explained most of the features.

What Is Audio Hijack?
Audio Hijack is an app that lets you capture audio from your Mac. You can apply effects, mix things together, monitor your mix, and record it all to a wide range of different file formats. It's the easiest way to capture audio from a microphone, your whole system, one application, or a combination of any of the above. You can record to files, and you choose how many; if you want one track per sound source, you can do that, or you can have everything go to a single file, or you can have anything in between. Run mac apps on windows pc.

Public libraries are providing more and more of their content in a digital format. For libraries, it saves on space and staff time, and providers are stepping up to deliver video, music, eBooks and audiobooks electronically.
Why it workslibraries purchase collections from a provider. This gives their patrons the ability to 'borrow' content using a computer or mobile device. When the loan period is over, the content is automatically 'returned'. For example, if you check out an eBook, it becomes available on your device for reading immediately.

What Is This?Macos Spotify Latency Bot
Is there an application on your Mac whose menu items are lacking keyboard shortcuts? For instance, would it not be easier to add a shortcut to mail for the Save Attachments item, or to iTunes to sync your iOS device, or to Safari to quickly tweet a page? Well, you can do all this, and you need nothing more than a few minutes and System Preferences.

iWork 13 was a big update. One that excited blind people, and at the same time annoyed power users. Because the iWork apps were rewritten from scratch, not every feature was included at first. One of these features is assigning hotkeys to styles, which later was brought back in an update. A couple times I’ve seen people asking how it works, so I sat down to figure it out.

I totally admit that this started out to be a selfish venture. just got my first Mac, and I was totally confused by how the items on the site were organized. That and I'm a total PC user, so I got out my trusty text editor and organized a list of what I thought I should listen to in the Podcasts area, organized the way I hoped I should listen. When I was done, I felt guilty, and thought I should share the list here.

Hello everyone. As most Mac users know, Pages is the word processor supplied by Apple. It is powerful, quick, but often mysterious and shrouded in myth and legend. I'm going to try to dispel some of that fear by giving you all tutorials on how to use features of pages, and sometimes comparing them to features of Windows, for those who are just starting out.
Ever since I changed to using Windows 10 in my VMware Fusion virtual machine, I've struggled with a fair bit of latency and audio problems when using the standard HDAudio device. Changing the buffer time didn't make a huge difference, but now I've found a way to install the VMaudio driver and revert to the old es1371 audio device so I can lower the latency. This makes my Windows 10 run like my Windows 7 VM latency-wise, and I figured everyone else could use this info, so here goes (note: This worked for me, but I'm not responsible if your audio breaks):

Hello,
Macos Spotify Latency App
It is about Spotify desktop application on Mac and the steps to make it accessible.
My spotify version is 1.0.6.80 but any version later than 0.9.4 (released in September, 2013) would be fine.
There are two steps to make it happen. Does staff elemetal attack affect magic dmg octopath.
Step 1: Open Terminal.app
Step 2: Type the following line and hit enter: /Applications/Spotify.app/Contents/MacOS/Spotify --force-renderer-accessibility&
That's it. If Spotify doesn't launch, please check the path where Spotify is installed.

What is iTunes? Do I need it?
iTunes is a program made by Apple for Mac and Windows. It is a program for managing your iDevice's content, backups, and upgrades. As of iOS 5, iTunes is no longer required, except for putting music on your device and performing full, encrypted backups. You can activate, upgrade, and back up your iDevice using iCloud as of iOS5. If you are on Windows and still want iTunes, you can download it from Apple.com.
After much searching of the internet and lots of trial and error, I managed to do this successfully. I thought I'd add my steps here as I have seen it asked for and have found no steps specific to installing an 8.1 bootcamp without vision or visual aids such as talking installers. As a bit of background, I made this work with a 15 inch macbook pro mid 2013 and os 10.11 updated to the latest version. These steps can be performed using newer macs from the last two or three years and running the latest version of Mac OS.
I needed to have Windows 7 with JAWS on MacBook Airs. However, Windows 7 is nor supported on newer Macs via Bootcamp. When running VMware Fusion, the Caps Lock key was not passing through as the assigned JAWS key and there were issues with VMware Fusion's built in key mapping feature. Here is a workaround that I developed.

This guide will focus on completing the task of transferring a file via Wi-Fi from your Mac or PC to your iOS device, from one iOS device to another, and vice versa. The actions which can be carried out with the transferred file will also be discussed.
With the release of Apple Music Radio, I've found the need for quickly checking the title and artist of the currently playing song in iTunes, even when I'm not in the app. I wrote an AppleScript to do that.
It can be assigned to a key in keyboard commander if desired. Here's the code, simply paste it into the script editor and save it where you keep your other scripts:

In the AppleVis help section, there's a topic which describes how to obtain a link to an app in the iTunes store. I have a more simple procedure which will also help you search for interesting apps.In to google, type the information you are seeking, for example 'SIP client iPhone' or 'app compatible voiceover' or 'text adventure iPhone' Don't include the quotes unless you want to match an exact phrase. After that, type iTunes, and submit your search. You can then copy the link from your address bar, after you've located the appropriate page through google.
